I wasn't quite sure which category to put this in, apologies if it's wrong.

This is a photo that I took for my first A Level Photography project (well...first photography project full stop) It was called 'A Sense Of Place' and we had to take 3 photos for two different categories (chosen ourselves from Landscape, Portrait, Buildings and Still Life). This was my second film, taken around Exeter. It's a close up of the wierd sculpture thingy that they put up earlier this year. It's like a star pyramid made from mirrors, with orbs in each of the gaps. There's writing written so that you can only read it in the reflections, you can see part of it here and it looks like I put the negative in backwards or something, but I didn't! Well, this is a close up of one of the orbs.
I took the photo, developed the film and printed this myself, using the College developing/dark room. I'm so proud. This particular pair was developed by hand using a wet bench, which we have been learning for our second project (the first ended a few weeks ago, and we used a special machine to develop things). The top one is the normally exposed print, and the bottom one is the solarised one. It was put into developer for 45 seconds, exposed for 2 seconds under the enlarger, and put into developer again, causing some negative parts and overall a slightly flatter tone (not so good, sometimes)
It was interesting to see that there is actually only one part of this photo which is negative-ised (yeah I made that word up....). Kudos to those of you who can see which part I'm pleased with the outcome, so I decided to share, seeing that it's that time of year. I could type for longer, but since this is already a reaaaally long comment, I'll stop. Apologies for that

Camera: 35mm, not sure which make, I borrowed it from College. Size: 5" x 7" Category For Project: Still Life Random Comment: I didn't actually end up using this for my finals. I used photos around my farm, instead, since Exeter felt a bit too 'distant' for 'A Sense Of Place', in my opinion. I still like it though.
looks cool, at first i thought there was a light and dark theme going on (with the reflection of the sky in the second photo of the orb being inversed until i read your description X3

Tee hee, it's actually a cool idea, that. Although saying that, the scan looks like cr@p on here, the bottom one is barely see-able (I made that word up, too....) I might try to make it clearer at some point. I'm glad you like it, though
I never read them We just laughed at Albyn pressing his face against the orbs, then wandered off. And they're both really clear in reality! Just not so much on the internet for some reason. But no fear (??), I may have discovered a way of getting decent scans, so I will try it and perhaps re-submit so that it's clearer......
